About Us

I'm Letizia, and I grew up in the countryside, surrounded by nature and animals. The first parrots I ever encountered were budgies: since childhood, they fascinated me with their melodious singing and intricate social dynamics. This interest soon turned into a genuine passion, which in 2013 led me to adopt Oscar.

Oscar is a magnificent Blue and Yellow Macaw with blue and yellow plumage. When he arrived, he was two years old and had a very difficult personality: aggressive and noisy, every day was a challenge. But the more the difficulties grew, the more my interest in the world of parrots ignited, and thanks to him, my passion became a mission.

To help Oscar, I began to study, attending behavior recovery and training courses – both Italian and international – and delving into topics of animal welfare and behavioral stereotypies. As our relationship improved, my passion intensified, and I continue to educate myself today, because in this field, you never stop learning.

From studying, I then moved to field experience, and since 2019, I have been working with many parrots of different species, always in the area of behavior recovery and training. A common thread emerged clearly from every case: the correct use of toys and environmental enrichment is often the key to solving the most complex behavioral problems. From this realization, the Parrot Toys project was born.

What we do

Every parrot is a born explorer, and play is the bridge between its wild nature and domestic life. Parrot Toys therefore offers toys designed to stimulate natural behaviors that the parrot would otherwise not be able to express. Play not only helps mediate a behavioral problem if present, but also prevents it, and above all, allows our wild-spirited animals to live in harmony with an environment very far from their nature: our homes.

Our toys are exclusively handmade, using natural materials as much as possible, such as wood, roots, and fruit. Each type of product is rigorously tested by my parrots, who enthusiastically handle quality control and help me improve their characteristics, to ensure pleasant and stimulating experiences for every parrot that uses them.
